Portsmouth’s very large harbour provides very good shelter and plenty of berthing options. There are three marinas on the Gosport side, one on the Portsmouth side, another at Fareham and one at the north end of Portchester lake, as well as several pontoons and jetties and many moorings. There is good shelter in The Camber but this is a busy little commercial dock and often full, with Isle of Wight ferries berthing very near the entrance.
Gosport Marina is located just 500m from Portsmouth Harbour entrance and offers immediate 24 hour access to the waters of the Solent. First class facilities are provided including electricity, water, showers, toilets, laundry, fuel, gas and free Wi-Fi. There is berthing for 500 vessels up to 29m LOA as well as a dry stack option for vessels up to 10m LOA. On site a fully serviced boatyard and café bistro complete the offer.
Gunwharf Quays Marina is located beneath the iconic Spinnaker Tower and offers quick and easy access to the Solent. The marina can accommodate vessels up to 80m LOA and maximum depth 5.5m. It is close to retail outlets, restaurants and Portsmouth’s Historic Naval Dockyard so is the ideal destination for enjoying all that Portsmouth has to offer.
Haslar Marina is just inside Portsmouth Harbour and easily identified by the big, green lightship. It offers 685 sheltered berths, including 100 visitor berths, and facilities include electricity, water, quality shower facilities, laundry and free Wi-Fi. There are two restaurants on site and a variety of marine services including a Sealift2 boat lift.
Royal Clarence Marina is situated in what was once the Royal Navy Victualling Yard across the harbour from the Spinnaker Tower. It is a deep water marina with 145 berths for vessels up to 60m LOA. Facilties include electricity, water, showers, laundry and Wi-Fi with a number of marine services available near by.
Port Solent Marina is located in the upper reaches of Portsmouth Harbour, accessed by well marked channels and a lock. The marina offers over 300 sheltered berths with 24 access all surrounded by bars, restaurants and entertainment for all the family. Excellent facilities here include electricity, water, luxury toilet and shower blocks, laundry, free Wi-Fi, fuel, gas and holding tank pump-out. There is also a fully serviced boatyard with a range of marine services on site.
Portsmouth Marine Engineering is a privately owned boatyard on the historic quayside in Fareham. There are 130 pontoon berths all with water and an electrical supply to many of them. Berths are available on annual basis and visistors are welcome. Facilities include a toilet and shower block and a boatyard.
Camber Dock is the site of Portsmouth’s oldest commercial docks and home to the local inshore fishing fleet. Camber Quay also has facilities for long or short term lay up of yachts and pleasure boats operated by Ken Brown Boats who also offer a dry berth service.
Wicormarine is situated in picturesque surroundings in the upper reaches of Portsmouth Harbour away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Deep water and tidal moorings, both pontoons and swinging moorings, are available and most are accessible at all states of tide. Facilities include toilets, showers, free Wi-Fi, a cafe and a chandlery. Visitors are always welcome.
